"Dear Broken One"
Letter from nobody

For my lost sister, Kitara.

I'm sorry.

You deserve better than the hand that was dealt you. Family once meant something in this world. It once meant holding onto one another for balance and support. It meant taking care of each other when the times grew tough and difficult.

It meant standing by your twin when she is grieving the death of a brother. Protecting her from the heartache of watching her soulmate die for eternity.

I write to you to tell you that I know of your struggles my twin. What I did was worse than the sentence that was executed. My only excuse and reason was that this new you, this violent, bloodthirsty version of you, it scares me. His death hit us all, but what you have done, the crimes that you have committed against your own people, is revolting. You murdered Promises. That is not something that I, the Eternal Judge, can ignore. The laws of balance and existence have their own price for the unbalance you have caused. I can not save you from the fate you made.

The new life you have made for yourself has also brought me great concern. You spread the blood of thousands, the blood of mortals, as though it will heal your own bleeding heart. But it won't. It will continue to fester and grow, the more life you take, the less of a soul you have.

Please, seek counsel in what I am trying to say. Please listen to me, sister. Don't be this monster that you have created. For being Friday is killing your true nature.

With deepest love,

~Katalli

Oh dear, sweet sister. This is pathetic. This "monster"you have so keenly called me is that of an already brewing being, the darkness from my soul that I had locked away for the sake of others, for the sake of you.

I played the part of a duty bound being for centuries, all to be painted as the villian time and time again. This is my place, this is my true nature.

It's pitiful that you have yet to realize this.

The weakling that was once your twin is dead, and in her place is a being worthy of fear and nightmares, of the screams for mercy.

And you set me free.

So thank you so much, Bright One, for being my captor and my liberator. Because as you said that memorable day, I'm the Broken One.

I'm Friday, the Broken Promise. And they will all bow to the destroyer of light.

~ Friday O'Lucky
